It was the month of August, Friday …………. shaan and khanak were having their morning tea and coffee and khwaish was busy in her little game of dipping biscuit into Papa’s coffee mug and then asking him to eat it with her little hand not verbally but by explaining it through her acts . khanak’s phone rang and she saw the screen displaying Ma’s name, She gets excited and picked up the phone
MA : hello
Khanak : haan ma ……… how r u ?
MA : I m fine ………….. How r u all ?
Khanak : we all are fine ma , was just having our tea .
MA: okk…..
Khanak: Ma , you called me at this time ?
MA : ya, today I called you at this time so that I can talk to you as well as with shaan too
Khanak put the phone at the speaker
MA: Khanak , jai is going to Bangalore to attend some seminar and while returning he wanted to meet you both and khwaish , So I asked him to take you and khwaish along with him . Shaan will then come at the weekend to take you back or if he can’t then Jai will accompanied you while returning too. And this time I don’t want to hear any excuse, i have talked to madhavi too about this and she agreed, so this time you will live with us and not with them. After a week when shaan will come then you both can go and live with your in-laws. Give the phone to shaan , I will tell him too .
Khanak : Ma, he is here only and listened everything .
Ma: Ok…….. so jai will reach there on Monday morning and by evening flight he will return , so if it suits you both then we will get your tickets booked .
Khanak : Ma, let me think .
Ma: what you want to think?
Khanak : wait, you talk to shaan
Shaan : Pranam Ma !
Ma: god bless you !
Shaan : Ma, you get the tickets done , khanak will come with jai and I will come at the weekend .
Khanak was surprised to hear this. One part of her was happy as she was going to her Ma’s place and other part was sad as she will be away from shaan for a week, first time after their marriage, they will be away for such a long time from each other. Earlier due to job she didn’t get time to spend time with her family or with her in-laws and after that due to pregnancy and then Khwaish . All her Delhi trip was along with shaan only and that to just for a day or too at the weekend. So she thought that it will be great timing to spend the time with her family and when shaan will come during weekend she can also live with her in-laws.
After few little talks shaan disconnected the call.
Khanak : why did you agreed ?
Shaan : didn’t you want to go ?? ……… he was surprised with her question
Khanak : I want to but what about you ? How will you leave alone? Where you will eat?
Shaan laughed loudly seeing her reaction, she frowned at this, and then he moved closer towards her and gave a peck on her cheeks
Shaan : sweetheart ! I m not a kid. I will manage everything, didn’t I leave alone in Mumbai.
Khanak : ya, I know .
Shaan: don’t worry, and start packing.
Khanak : hmmm…….. but before that I want to buy gifts for everyone and you will accompany me this time .
Shaan : as you wish mam …………. And with this he gave a small peck on khwaish’s hair who was sitting in his lap busy in playing with her toys spreaded all over the bed .
Next day it was Saturday and after finishing her daily morning rituals khanak got ready and made khwaish too ready and asked shaan to go for a shopping. They went to a gift article shop, where shaan stopped near a perfume sections to select perfumes for Akshay , and khanak along with khwaish moved towards other section to select the gift for others . shaan was busy in selecting the perfumes when he heard the laughing sound near him , he moved his head and found that three sexy girls are talking and gossiping and laughing seeing him and when he saw them , they waved their hands and with flirtatious look was posing towards him . shaan also smiled seeing their antiques . khanak who was watching all this , moved towards him with swift steps and when she came near him she gave khwaish to him
Khanak : Darling ! Please hold your daughter, I m coming from the washroom.
Shaan : sure ……………… he said casually
Khanak : please , if you are done with your work then come along with me and help me in selecting the things for others.
Shaan was surprised seeing her attitude and the tone of talking but didn’t able to understand anything . When he passed from near those girls, they again laughed and signaled him bye, to which he also responded and signaled them bye. khanak became more angry seeing this and just gave him the most scandalous look , which he looked and then he understands thereason of her this behavior . He came near her and just gave her a teasing smile.
Khanak : JERK !!
Shaan laughed out loudly at this
Shaan : you are such a devil . When you saw them looking at me, you gave khwaish to me just to show them that I am married and have a daughter too.
Khanak: WOW !! you are so intelligent but still it didn’t stopped you from flirting with them and how coolly you were enjoying with those stupid girls na , and those stupid girls even after seeing that a man is married and having a child didn’t discourage them to stop flirting around .
Now I got it , that is why you agreed so easily to ma’s proposal , so that you will have a nice time here to flirt around these stupids girls.
Shaan : Wow ! What an idea, I didn’t thought about this possibility *wink*
Khanak wacked him in his arms and moved in other direction.
Shaan again laughed loudly at this and asked her to calm down and then after lots of cajoling and request from him, she was again back to herself and then they started selecting gifts for their families.
As decided jai came at the Monday morning and then by evening flight they were ready to leave for Delhi. shaan said that he will meet them directly at the airport , so they reached the airport few minutes earlier .
Jai, khanak and shaan along with khwaish in his arms was standing at the airport. Jai excused himself to give some privacy to them and went to have coffee for all . Khanak immediately hugged shaan . Shaan hugged her back with one hand as he was holding khwaish with other hand and gave a soft peck at her hairs and slightly squeezed her , to which a small droplets started flowing from her eyes .
Shaan : what is this khanak , you are just going for a week .
Khanak detached herself from him and moved away , shaan wiped her tears and gave a kiss at her forehead .
By that time jai too came and they have their coffee and then they depart after the announcement of their flight arrival. shaan kissed khwaish all over her forhead, temple, cheeks , palms before detaching
herself from him and gave her to khanak . Jai and shaan hugged each other and then they moved towards their destination.
Shaan returned back to home after that and then the silence of the home make him feel terrible. He went to kitchen to make coffee after changing his clothes, and took his coffee mug and came back to his room and sat at the window, facing the busy road and was lost in his thoughts remembering both his sweethearts. This was the first time after khwaish birth that she was away from him. It was just became his habbit that after returning from office he spent all his time with her and even she also wakes up from her deep sleep just by hearing his one voice or even just by his touch , even if he puts his hand on her , she gets shivered and wake up from her deep sleep and then both faher and daughter have their beautiful time, playing with each other and now a days they even try to teach her some rhymes and to understand the body parts and to join hands saying “ JAI” to elders and God .
He looked towards the toys placed nicely at one side of the room and all her little clothes too which were used to scattered over the whole room was also placed nicely in her cupboard . He moved
towards her toys and was lost in his thoughts.
It was 10 PM , when his phone rang and he looked the screen displaying khanak’s name , he immediately picked it up
Khanak : Hey shaan
Shaan : Hi
Khanak : Sorry shaan, didn’t get the time to call earlier. Was surrounded by others earlier and khwaish too was crying so much , don’t know what happened to her suddenly , Ma told that – “ nazar lagi hogi “ , so she does something and now finally she slept.
Khanak : what happened ? Why are you not speaking?
Shaan (almost with chocking voice) : I m missing you both
One sentence from him and her tears started flowing. both of them didn’t speak for some time and then both of them tried to compose themselves for each other , khanak thought that she have to be strong as she had Khwaish with her and also she is with her family but he is all alone there , so she can’t be week , she had to be strong . She wiped her tears and to make the environment light she said
Khanak : why ? You were so calm and was teasing me at airport when I told you the same. Now go and flirt with those girls as you have one full week, and you are free to do as you like.
Shaan : why did you cleaned the room and placed khwaish’s all stuff at cupboard ?
Khanak : why ? you always complained that I didn’t clean our room and khwaish’s stuff were always spreaded in whole room , so I cleaned it , so that you can leave as you want for this week.
Shaan : Khanak , I was so used to all her things , though I always complained about that but do you know what I did today , all the toys which were kept nicely at the one corner of the room , I picked her toys one by one and throws them to other side of mine as she used to do and after that I moved to those spreaded toys to search for her favorite little Barbie doll but I didn’t able to find it , but she always able to find it out .
Khanak’s who was listening to all this found that her tears were not stopped for a second and were continuously flowing.
Shaan : I m sorry sweetheart , I made you cry so much .
Khanak wiped her tears and with the choking voice said :
Khanak : that little doll , I brought it with me as she plays with it ………………… she moved towards khwaish who was sleeping peacefully in the bed and kissed her forehead, cheeks and squeezed her slightly .
Khanak : Shaan , she will miss you too, you know in flight too she was saying “ Pa Pa Pa Pa “ , so many times
Shaan : I don’t know how will I spend these days without you both . After coming back to home and the silence around, I was feeling so terrible.
Khanak : Have you eaten anything ?
Shaan : will eat after disconnecting , didn’t feel like eating anything now.
Khanak : No, go to the kitchen right now and open the microwave , I have already made the dinner for you , heat it right now and eat it.
Shaan smiled slightly at this and then after disconnecting her call, he moved towards the kitchen and then had his dinner, after that he came back to his room , opened the TV and surfed the channels but
he didn’t feel like watching anything as he was lost in his own thoughts and the sweet lovely sounds of Khwaish which was ringing in his ears . he opened his lappy and started seeing all the pics of her and khanak and then last pic which was of khwaish alone , he moved his hands and touched the laptop screen and with his fingers he touched the screen from top to bottom just to feel her little sweetheart..............“ My Khwaish “ !!
As the days passed by , shaan and khanak talked regularly at night and they sometimes remembers their pre marriage phase when they talked through phone for so long at night and they feel like they are living those moments again in their life and the feeling of missing each other’s absence was still the same even after 4.5 years of their married life, but only difference is that now khwaish too was involved in their talk.
All these 5 days passed as 5 months long to them and finally the weekend came , khanak almost asks him daily about his flight details or whether he has booked his tickets or not but he somehow changed the topic, as he wanted to give her surprised so he told her that may be he will come on Sunday morning as he had some pending work which he want to finish it up on Saturday .
It was the Saturday morning again, khanak was in the garden area giving water to the plants , when she heard the sound of Car , she moved towards the main gate to see who came so early in the morning ,and when she saw him , she almost ran towards him and curled her hands round his neck and hugged her tightly , and also hugged her back and they both stood their holding each other for some time when they were startled by Ma’s voice .

Khwaish gets elated seeing shaan and raised her both hands as if asking him to hold her and take her in his hand. Shaan too smiled widely seeing her and hold her in his arm and squeezed her tightly and started kissing her lovingly.

Ma: My God ! For the first time since they both came, I am seeing them so ecstatic. Shaan what have you done to both of them.
Khanak got embarrassed and shaan moved towards ma to touch her feet and then hugged khwaish tightly, who curled her arms around his neck and put her head on his shoulders hugging him .
