Khwaish Part 16

They reached back to Hyderabad after spending beautiful time with their family. Reached home during late at night, khwaish has already slept on their way, and khanak is holding her securely in her arms, covered her with soft blanket, so that she has proper and peaceful sleep. 

After reaching home , khanak take out the bed cover from their bed and kept down khwaish  taking care that she don’t wake up , otherwise it will be difficult to make her sleep again and they are not in condition to entertain her at this hour of night .

The morning rays peeped through curtains and reached shaan’s eyes , he opened his eyes fully in a surprise  and wondered about the time, he  immediately reached to his iphone kept on the side table of the bed , it shows  7 : 00 AM , he sighed and then kept his head back on pillows , but suddenly a thought  strike to his mind that why didn’t his alarm clock ticked  today at her usual time , he  turned to her side and found her  still sleeping like a cute and innocent child , he smiled seeing her and raised his hand to cares her , but as he touched her ,his expression changed suddenly in a shock, he immediately stir khanak and asked her to touch her , she also got worried  and looked back at him with pale expression .

Khanak : shaan she is burning with high fever.

Shaan didn’t say anything but immediately moved out of bed and went to have cold water and a cloth from washroom and asked Khanak to bring milk for her.

Khanak unlocked the main gates of their flat and take the milk packets kept outside their gates, came to kitchen and boiled it. Shaan started putting wet cloth dipped in cold water on her forehead, but she was still sleeping innocently without making any sound, khanak came with a bottle of milk after cooling it, and took her in her lap, and  started feeding her, after few minutes Khwaish  opened her eyes when her temperature starts decreasing , shanak heaved a breath of great relief, khanak keeps on caressing her head and talking to her. After she finishes her milk, khanak took her in her arms and started patting her back.

Shaan then take her from khanak and kept her in his lap

Shaan : Sweetie kya hua ? aaj papa ko uthaya nayi  ? See I got so late today.

Khwaish didn’t said anything but just looked at him and then leaned her head towards his chest , kept sitting there without doing or saying anything, shaan keeps on talking to her , but she didn’t respond and was sitting lazily in his lap. Khanak by that time brought morning tea and coffee for them, and took the tray towards the balcony to sit their and to change her mood by showing her random things,birds, moving vehicles, but  she just looked towards the direction they asked her to look and then  turned her head again and keeps looking to them sitting on their lap rotating her pretty eyes here and there.

Seeing the response of their so lively and chirping child since morning, who now became totally silent, makes them more worried and tensed, they were feeling emotional to see her response. It was their everyday routine to start their morning with her elated voice and she keeps on buzzing whole day.

Shaan started taking his coffee and gave her one biscuit and asked her to  dip it in his mug but she didn’t , she just keep holding biscuit in her hand , and moved towards khanak , hugged her , and then lay her head in her lap . Khanak cares her head lovingly, and khwaish again closed her eyes. Khanak took her  inside and kept her on the bed , covered her with blanket , set the temperature of AC, but didn’t switched it off as she knows that her daughter can’t sleep without AC and is so much like her father in this matter.

Shaan too came after them, khanak looked at him with almost teary eyes, shaan hugged her and asked her to relax, and it must be due to change in weather. He asked her to be ready by 11 AM to visit Khwaish’s doctor and then he will have to go back to the office as he is having one important meeting.

They took her to the doctor, who asked them to give her prescribed medicine timely and it was nothing to worry ….. Due to change in weather and environment children responds like that.

Shaan dropped them and went to his office again. Khanak took care of Khwaish whole day, and keeps on playing with her to uplift her mood, but all in vain, she just sits quietly and leaned on khanak’s lap and she keeps on caressing her back, forehead and head with love and affection.

It was evening when khanak’s phone ringed, she looked the screen and it was jai’s. Khanak answered it. She told him about khwaish’s health which worried jai too and he asked her to give phone to khwaish, khanak, takes her phone near her ear and tells her

Khanak : sweetie , see jai mama wants to talk to you

Khwaish looked at khanak and khanak asked her to hold the phone, jai starts speaking, and khwaish smiles lightly hearing his voice, which surprises khanak. Khanak smiled too and hugged her and kissed her forehead lovingly and finally she got relieved to see that her daughter smiled atlast, as they both are worried to see her like that, the house seems to be so dull, soulless without hearing their daughters chirping voice, she thanked jai for calling her and talking to khwaish and rhyming the poems for her which he used to tell her in Delhi, as she starts laughing hearing them as if understood everything.

Khanak:  Bro, it seems that she was missing you ………. I was feeling terrible to see her like this since morning, but now she is smiling and playing little, I hope she gets back to her normal self back soon

Jai : don’t worry khanak , she is a child and its normal for them to fall ill, don’t  take tension , by tomorrow she will be fine and again starts her masti , and makes you run after her for everything .

Khanak : jai ,earlier I used to complain about her acts but today when she is sitting quietly , don’t know why I felt terrible and though she is sitting with me whole day but I felt that she is not in home today , suddenly home seems to be so dull.

Jai:  I can understand sis, I m missing her a lot, and to uplift your mood I have a news for you

Khanak : Whats that ?

Jai : next week I will visit you guys , may be  for rakhi

Khanak : Wow ! Thats wonderful bro, I am so happy   and my little girl would be more happy to meet her mama here.

Jai: I am excited too

After having their little more talk about some here and there topics, they bid their ‘goodbyes ‘and kept the phone back.

Shaan came back from office and khanak told him about everything that how jai’s call make her change in her mood and finally her temperature starts decreasing too . Shaan felt happy to hear it ,  he was as worried as khanak was , he has an important meeting today otherwise he would have taken off for the day but cant , still he makes sure to call khanak and enquire about khwaish’s health after every hour.

Shaan bend forward to hold khwaish from bed took her in her arms and kissed her cheeks and forehead lovingly “Sweetie, how are you “, …………..Khwaish responds him by hugging and kissing his cheeks too…….. “Papa”

Shaan hugged her tightly and kissed her hairs “My little doll, …………..Papa’s khwaish“
