Khwaish Part 1

 

Shaan was sitting outside the OT.  He was so tensed, nervous, anxious, and tears in his eyelashes.   All he wanted now is to be with his sweetheart, but doctors were not allowing him into the OT. He never felt so helpless throughout his life, which he was feeling now, even not at those 6 years which he spent away from all his loved one, and specially from khanak but today he was thinking that how his life is suddenly becoming meaningless with her being away from him, before when she was with him, and talk continuously  he sometimes become irritated and asked her to be quite for some time , and tease her to give rest to her tongue but now when she was quite he was feeling so lonely and suddenly he was feeling that how he is feeling restless and want to hear her voice which he didn’t heard it for last 12 hrs . though he believe in god but never goes to temple or read holy books as he thinks that all these things are not so important if you are pure at heart , nothing else is needed to please god , but for his sweetheart well being, today he prayed to every god , that he just want her  khanak  to be safe , though doctors said that she is fine and complications do happen during delivery but he just can’t afford to see his sweetheart in pain . 

After  3 hrs OT door opened and shaan rushed towards it , the lady doctor was carrying a baby with her , shaan was ecstatic seeing that but  before holding the child in his hand all he asked to doctors was , how  Khanak is , when doctor told him that she is fine and safe , then his heart beats rest in peace and  take a child in his hand , a tears of joy, different feeling , happiness of being father  overwhelmed him and he started kissing the baby . Ma, who was with him throughout felt happy to see him elated after almost 15 hrs . she knew that how he spent those moments , though she was also worried for khanak but more for shaan , knowing him since childhood she knew that shaan is not that strong to face such a complicated matter and more she was worried due to his response , as he didn’t talk to anyone , was silent  for so many hours and now seeing him responding , makes Ma delighted and she felt blessed to have such a Son- in – law for her daughter who loves her like crazy , tears kept rolling from Ma’s eyes too , but  due to happiness .

Doctors shifted khanak to a ward and taken baby for cleaning, shaan went near her and to his surprise tears started flowing from his eyes seeing her; he thanked all the Gods for responding all his prayers and for keeping safe to their child and his sweetheart. He went near her and kissed her forehead. khanak who was unconscious  till now , showed some movements and opened her eyes slowly and gave a small smile seeing shaan in front of her . shaan went near her and sat beside her , holds her hand and asked slowly “ How r you ? “ . khanak who was keenly looking at him gave him a small smile again assuring him that she is fine .

shaan asked – “ don’t you want to know about our child ?” 

Khanak – “ I can read your expression too, and I know that our child is safe , Isn’t it ? “

Shaan  kept looking at her, khanak  squeezed his hand  telling him that she is with him and its reality and nothing to worry but shaan was fighting with his feeling which was not stopping , no matter how much he consoles himself that she is fine and is in front of him but the thought of those last 15 hrs dreaded him , that how he felt a lifeless sole all those hrs , and how important she is for him .

Khanak – “you were afraid?”

Shaan – “I was almost died, I never felt so helpless in my whole life “

Khanak – “I m fine, don’t worry “

Shaan – “never do this again, if you were suffering from pain, you could have told me “

Khanak – “you were busy with your presentation and I don’t want you disturb you “

Shaan – “Disturb?? “

Shaan- “Khanak, if you do this again then keep my words, I will kill you. I m also such a stupid , I was so busy with my presentation that I didn’t pay any attention of what you are going through , I m sorry , I hurt you so much , I should have been more careful , I m so sorry sweetheart , I  failed in my duty to be a good and careful husband “

In an impulse shaan leaned over her and hugged her, taking care that she didn’t get hurt due to his weight , khanak  moved her hand and ran it through his hair ,assuring him and  she was also feeling guilty of making him worried  so much , she knew that he cares for her so much and as he was busy with his presentation , that is why she didn’t told him that she is having a severe pain , but later when she went to kitchen for making coffee for him but she fainted and after that she didn’t remembered anything .

After sometime nurse entered into the room, with baby, shaan stood up and took baby from her, nurse asked khanak to feed the baby and went away. Shaan took the baby near khanak , khanak took the baby in her arms and the tears of happiness overwhelmed her , she kept looking at the baby and then gave a glance towards shaan who was looking at her  only .

Khanak – “What??”

Shaan – “I won the bet, we had a baby girl “

Khanak – “Jerk, you always have to tease me for everything ”

Shaan – “yes, that is the most which I missed all those 15 hrs “

Khanak gave him an annoyed look, and he chuckled seeing her and gave her a soft peck on lips and then to his daughter on cheek

Khanak – “So what name you have decided for your baby girl ??”

Shaan – “Khwaish ”

Khanak – “nice name but why this name only??”

Shaan took the baby from her and says “she is my wish from God and from you also, so KHWAISH“.
